11-1-13 The Absurdity of Christ’s Church Staying Out of Politics Part One: Who Owns What

One of, if not one of the main problems, in America is the fear of Christ’s church being involved in political leadership. That is really sad as it should be one of the main goals of Christ’s church to battle Satan’s politics at every turn. As a result, Satan rules America and much of the world through liberal politics which is largely fueled by the sin of covetousness. America seems to have forgotten the tenth Commandment to the point coveting by Christian, and non-Christian, pickpockets in the secrecy of America’s voting booths goes unchallenged in evangelical churches and Liberal churches wholeheartedly approve coveting what others have! It is no wonder that the head of government in our fallen nation uses American covetousness by repeatedly stating Satan’s lie when he keeps telling an all ready bankrupt America if you take just a little more, everything will be alright.
It is time to take a look at who really owns everything so we can later address who should be distributing everything. When we do that, we find out the Great Governor and Creator of everything, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Almighty, owns everything. An America full of covetousness is obviously under Satan’s delusion that there is no creator or they would easily grasp that the creator of everything owns everything, including people! Consider this, if the Lord did not own people, he would not be able to determine everyone’s destiny for eternity. Remember, his throne was established for justice and Christ warned the earth, fear Him who can cast you into Hell for eternity. Surely, if the Lord owns the cattle on a thousand hills and everything in the forest (Psalm 50) and if Psalm 104, tells us that all of His creatures look to Him for substance, then it also becomes clear that if he owns every creature he created, that he would then would own people also.
This scripture is from the oldest book in the Bible and it is so applicable for our time because it clearly establishes that the Lord Jesus Christ, The Great Creator and Governor, owns everything. The Bible’s book of Job tells us that one day in heaven, the angels appeared before the Lord and Satan with them. Job 1:8-12 (NASB unless otherwise noted) 8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” 9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
12 The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
After Satan had destroyed Job’s riches and his ten children, the Lord proved Satan wrong because: 20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised.”

In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. The Lord’s man Job understood completely that the Lord owned everything and it was his to give or to take away and he still worshipped the Lord. Job was then left with terrible affliction, a wife who told him to curse God and die and friends who sat around with him and blamed what had happened on Job! Job then had problems with whether the Lord had been fair with him because the Lord, who normally puts a hedge of protection around his righteous people, let Satan have his way with Job which clearly shows the Lord owns everything, including people, and everything is his to treat as he sees fit. Later when the Lord contended with Job, we have this scripture: Job 41:11 (NIV) Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me. Proverbs 22:2 The rich and the poor have a common bond, The Lord is the maker of them all. Jesus Christ created everything and died for everyone so we are not our own: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
In addition to Psalm 2, Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28, America desperately needs to learn the lessons of Ezekiel 20:5-6 and other verses as follows: “On the day when I chose Israel and swore to the descendants of the house of Jacob and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am the LORD your God, 6 on that day I swore to them, to bring them out from the land of Egypt into a land that I had selected for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands. Here we have the Lord choosing who he will bless and he will give them a great land along with vineyards and homes that others have toiled for. Does that seem unfair? Not when you understand since the Lord created everything, it is his to take whatever he wants and bless who he will. Psalm 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You and this verse from Deuteronomy 18:25: Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ Hear now, O house of Israel! Is My way not right? Is it not your ways that are not right?
The Lord who owns everything is absolutely fair. In a dream Abraham had in Genesis 15, the Lord told him that after the Israelites suffered under the Egyptians for four hundred years, they would be given the land of the Amorites but it was not right at the current time for the Israelites to have the Amorites land because the Bible in Genesis 15:16 states: Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.”. Approval to take the Amorites land was then fair!
Next, in Ezekiel 20, we have the Lord threatening to destroy his rebellious, chosen people, since that is what they deserved but the Lord instead saved them, not for their sake but for His name sake! Ezekiel 20:8-9: 8 But they rebelled against Me and were not willing to listen to Me; they did not cast away the detestable things of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt.
Then I resolved to pour out My wrath on them, to accomplish My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. 9 But I acted for the sake of My name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
To make sure we understand that the Great Governor saved Israel not for their sake but for the sake of his name, the concept is repeated two more times in verses 14 and 20 after listing more short comings of Israel!
America, please look at and study these scriptures as America desperately needs repentance and revival if America is to survive.
The Lord and our founders never intended what belongs to others to be given to others by any government. Now, please look at the wisdom of just one of the founders, Thomas Jefferson:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” and “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”
America is full of unhappiness with their government and now you know why.
