10-22-13 Unique Blessings VS Unique Punishment

In the first 14 verses of Deuteronomy 28, we are taught how a nation that will follow the Lord’s ways will be blessed every way possible and is warned that if turns against the Lord it will suffer mightily in the next 54 verses! A nation that has been highly blessed and then falls will receive unique punishment: Ezekiel 7:5 NASB “Thus says the Lord GOD, ‘A disaster, unique disaster, behold it is coming!
I want you to understand that as devout Christians, each of us have a very unique and special relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Have you thought of Christ fellowshipping with you and also being the Great Creator and Governor of the Universe? People of the world are impressed when they get to interact with a famous person while we Christians have a highly unique and ongoing relationship with the Creator, Benefactor, Judge, Governor of the Universe, and personal friend who pleads with God for us:
Job 16:19-21 NIV
19 Even now my witness is in heaven;
my advocate is on high.
20 My intercessor is my friend
as my eyes pour out tears to God;
21 on behalf of a man he pleads with God
as one pleads for a friend
.
The fact that this relationship is such a special blessing gives us reason to tell those we love and those we come across about it so they can also experience the absolute joy of knowing our risen Savior personally.
My daily devotions include four Psalms and I was impressed by all the promises for us Christians in these four Psalms and the selection that follows was by no means all of them in these four Psalms.
Psalm 33:18-22
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love be with us, LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 34:7-9 and 15-16
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the LORD, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.

The same day, my Bible reading also included this verse that has been one of my favorites for years.
Proverbs 16:7 NASB
When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

With this verse, I let my Lord and savior fight my battles and the results were awesome and if I lost, my attitude was now more accepting of the outcome since I had put it in the Lord’s hands.
What the all of the scripture points to is that the Lord is always with us! Now considering who the Lord is, that is awesome beyond belief.
That is why the first chapter of my book on the sovereignty of Christ starts with this:
Chapter 1 The Sovereignty of Christ
Atom by Atom, Cell by Cell, Breath by Breath, Body by Body, Word by Word, Thought by Thought, Soul by Soul, Heaven or Hell,
and Everything Going Inward and Outward,
From Nothing to Infinity
Because Christ is the Alpha and the Omega!
